Brownie Girl Scouts through the Years and Saftey Sense Try-It

The girls learned where all the important places are in Riverside on their maps. They learned that we have 2 Fire Houses and why.

WOW !!! Another successful site sale.
Meeting Tuesday, 3/22 @ 3:05-5:00 in the Library
Our next meeting with the troop is this Tuesday in the Library. We will be working on 2 Try-It badges," Brownie Girl Scouts thru the Years and Saftey Sense". For the Brownie G.S. thru the years badge,the girls will learn to play a simple card game like children often did before all the electronic arrived in our homes. We will also go over games and activities girls did starting from 1912 to current. Next for the Saftey Sense badge, the girls will locate and draw on their own maps important places in Riverside they should know ie: Fire house, Police Station, Village Hall, Library, Train station, School etc.
Our "Brownie of the Day" is Annalisa Cinkay.
PLEASE PICK YOUR DAUGHTER UP AT THE CENTRAL SCHOOL LIBRARY @ 5:00.
CAMP PALOS NOTE:
Response letter due 4/8 to Brownie Box. Also, if your daughter is unable to join us for 2 nights, she may also select just a 1 night stay. Please make a note on the letter to which night she will be staying.

Next Meeting Tuesday 3/8 @ 3:05 - 5:00
Our next meeting with the girls is Tuesday 3/8 in the Art Room, Claire O'Brien will be Brownie of the Day. The Try-It badge the girls will work on is "Movers". The girls will experiment and try their hand at making 2 objects that move. The first is a Pinwheel made from basic materiels like, construction paper, straight pin and a pencil.The second will be the Balloon Rocket made from string, balloon, and a paper bag. After completing the Balloon Rocket the girls will get a chance to race each other to see how fast their rockets can go.

Balloon Rocket At the end of the Meeting the girls will receive information on our up- coming Weekend trip to Camp Palos 5/13-5/15. Please respond by 4/8 if your daughter will or will not be attending the weekend trip. All Mom's are invited to join us for the weekend. It is not required for a Mother to attend in order for the girl to go on the trip. This trip is funded by the cookie money earned from last years sales. |
